Self-aligning roller bearings are a type of bearing with double rows of rollers. Their outer ring has a common spherical raceway, and the inner ring has two raceways that are inclined at an Angle relative to the bearing axis. This design endowing self-aligning roller bearings with self-aligning performance, enabling them to adapt to angular errors between the shaft and the bearing housing or shaft deflection, and thus are less affected by installation errors or shaft deflection. Self-aligning roller bearings can not only withstand radial loads but also axial loads acting in both directions.

The type of retainer
CC type:It adopts a two-piece stamped steel plate cage, with no flange on the inner ring but a middle retaining ring guided by the inner ring. Using symmetrical spherical rollers, compared with other types, it can withstand greater loads, thereby extending the service life .
CA type:features an integral machined brass cage with flanges on both sides of the inner ring and a middle retaining ring guided by the inner ring. This type of bearing has a high limiting speed and relatively low noise during operation.
MB type:Similar to the CA type, it adopts two machined brass cages, with flanges on both sides and in the middle of the inner ring. Its rated load is relatively low .
E type:It adopts symmetrical spherical rollers and two quenched steel pressed cages. The inner ring has no flange and is equipped with a middle retaining ring guided by the cage. This design improves the lubrication between the roller end face and the retaining ring, reduces bearing friction, helps guide the rollers in the non-load area, and assists the rollers in entering the load area. At the same time, it increases the roller length, significantly enhancing the rated load, typically by 20% to 35% of the rated load.
Application scenarios of different types of self-aligning roller bearings:
CC type:suitable for steel plant equipment, lifting equipment, port equipment and other occasions that need to withstand heavy loads and impact loads .
CA type:suitable for applications such as coal mills and wind turbines that need to withstand particularly large impact loads.
MB type:suitable for crushers, mixers and other applications that need to withstand particularly large radial and axial loads.
E type:suitable for applications that require high rotational speed, multi-directional forces and large loads.
These different types of self-aligning roller bearings each have their own characteristics in structural design and application scenarios. Choosing the appropriate bearing type can enhance the performance and service life of equipment.
